CP-E Catless and Catted Downpipes
Hi,
Does anyone know the HP difference between CP-E Catless and Catted downpipes and which one is better to have in the N54?
Thanks

Better is a point of view. Catless means you have no catalytic converters. There is marginally more power but you'll get a service engine soon light for catalyst inefficiency unless you get an O2 simulator. Some also complain of exhaust smell without cats. Catted means you'll have a catalytic converter, pay more, no ses light, normal smell, will pass emissions but lose ~5 whp. You pick.

Everything I have read and everyone I have spoke to echoes what boom said. Until you are talking about really large amounts of boost the difference is negligible on high flow or 'race' cats (even at 28psi the worst I saw was a 8 whp loss). For those of us working in the 12-16 lb. range it looks like between 2 and 5 whp less than fully catless. All in all it's personal preference and budget. Downpipes are a solid upgrade on the n54 either way to go.

If you want the last bit of power then get the catless pipes, but don't forget you will get the SES light.
