You could suffer catastrophic engine damage as a result of the belt getting eaten by the crank off of the pulley. May as well replace it before it gets bad.

Someone on that thread said there is only one way the belt would fit and it's the first picture. Post 13.
On the side note, are the engine mount on the right same shape and size as the left? If so would it be better if both mounts are swapped with stiffer ones? The IS mounts are the same as the LCI N55 mounts. Are these confirmed to be stiffer?

Hmmm so any thoughts on what mounts to use? I don't want to go too stiff, what is stiffer than stock but the furthest away from solid mounts? I feel like I need to do this on both cars...

335is mounts seem to be the best compromise so far from my readings.

I just did my belt and waterpump pully as it was chipped. Until now i had no idea how it was chipped. My engine mounts have just under 90k on them and i should of had them replaced when I did the turbos. I was looking at the IS mounts and some others until I came across a few good reviews about these mounts. Something that won't rattle your teeth away but offer a little more than the IS mounts and if it ever wears you can just replace the insert or even upgrade to a stiffer one.

I wonder if those billet mounts are sold individually or as a pair. It's not clear from their website. $200 for a pair of billet mounts seems too good to be true.
By the way, the 335IS only has a different passenger side mount. The driver side mount is the same part number as every other 335i. The issue is with the power steering pulley contacting the subframe, which is on the driver side, so I can't see how a different passenger side mount will remedy the issue. The only way to address this is to replace both mounts and to inspect them over time for flex. Notching out the subframe sounds like a bad idea but is pretty easy considering it's aluminum. Can easily be accessed from the driver side wheel well. If you go for solid mounts, then none of this applies.
Realistically this problem only affects a very small minority of 335i owners. The LCI ones have a redesigned subframe with more clearance. I'd love a set of polyurethane mounts myself. Installed some on the Mustang and the vibrations are hardly worse than stock but it puts the power down way more directly.

I did the VTT inlets last week and the IS pass side mount. Even with the trans mounts loosened the pass mount out I couldn't really get the drivers side to move with a top mount engine brace. I was expecting to move the engine quite a bit on a single mount to give extra room while doing the inlets. Very little at all, and with both mounts on I don't see any way this thing is getting close to the subframe. I would say just keeping newer drivers side, IS Pass and upgraded trans mounts should keep things pretty planted.

Thanks for the link man. I'll pick these up for the engine mounts. I wonder if I should bother with the tranny mount, my initial thought is no as I don't want any more gear chatter than I have to have with my 3+ and LWFW...then again these have good reviews: M3 E46 transmission mounts: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...=656753&page=2

I believe these fit as well. I had them on my E46 M3. I just put a call in to Rogue but they're at SEMA. Sent an email for confirmation.

If they fit, I'd imagine a pair of those coupled with the E46 M3 OEM trans mounts would give a great result and way less movement, along with minimal NVH added.

Those e46 mounts wont wrork on an e92. And the pricing for the BFI mounts are each, not a pair. Also the BFI mounts come in 2 stages, one is a little harder than stock and the other is much stiffer than stock.
