Can I? Yes. Will I? No.

The topic is a new turbo kit. Talk about that.

Funny isn't it lol. It is amusing at times but gets redundant.

Back to topic, we should have a dyno session in about 2 weeks of time. BMS Meth kit with spec stage 3+ with steel SMFW is what will be the addition to the car.

Ms109 and 100% Meth, we'll pull the highest we can go before the HPFP gives out.

Honestly does it really matter what it cost. Does it make the car any less badass? It cost what it cost. Some can afford, some can't.

I guess some get joys saying they spent less money for a certain amount of hp. Woopy f*cking doo.

Looking forward to the results. Should have no problems with the HPFP on race gas and meth. We were totally fine on HPFP at 725. Now if you tried using E85 you would be hitting a wall, but 109 and meth, you should have enough HPFP for 750-800WHP no problem

There are arguments either way but I think for a single setup a top mount makes the most sense. I think if someone wants more of a sleeper look and is more interested in a setup that isn't shifting the powerband all the way to the right twins make sense.

There are arguments for cooling, ease of reaching the turbos, etc. There will be advantages and disadvantages to either but the most important thing IMO is the quality of the manifold design and the tuning that accompanies the upgrade.

A junk manifold with a top mount single will be crushed by an excellent twin design and vice versa.

Ok got ya. Looks great I just wanted your opinion. Only thing I've heard before was about heat and cooling, as in it was better to mount it low. Looking forward to some videos!

Thank you Tony, I am looking forward to your double barrel kit as well. So no more problems with e85, run it 100%. I will be happy to break 700's if everything goes well. I don't think we should have a problem though, the only thing is that the turbo only flows 800 Crank hp. A nice 29 psi pull should suffice. How many meth nozzles and size have you ran before?

We have gone through both routes and chose the top mount. There was very little difference in manifold sizing from a top vs bottom mount. The ease of installation and maintenance check on the turbo is much easier. As Sticky said above, it's all in the quality of parts and design that truly matters.

new to this forum and it says i dont have enough rep points to private message you so here is what i wanted to send you:

Hey hows it going? i saw a thread where you have made a top mount turbo kit for a n54 and was wondering if i were to let you use my car as a development car for the n55 platform, if you would be able to make a comparable kit?

a little about my car: i have a 2012 335i m sport coupe with a 6mt 30k miles, it has a 550i clutch. currently the stock dmfw but i will be upgrading to a steel smfw soon. pure stage one turbo, k&n drop in filter, bms meth kit, 7" vrsf FMIC, CP, DP, JB4 G5 iso with FF installed. also the car was manufactured in febuary of 2012 so it is flashable with cobb although i havent done that yet.

i am located in SD and will be going on deployment soon so i have plenty of time that you could use the car to design the kit and could bring the car to you in LA.

if you think this is possible and are interested just let me know thank you.

@Terry@BMS You think this is tunable with a custom cobb back end if we built a setup for this.
