spec stg3 plus and the car was cobb tuned stock turbos with fbo and on drag radials with a lot of track days. installed the AD Engineering kit with the 6766bb kit and made a few pulls on the dyno and found the clutch slipping. power on the dyno was mid 500 on the second pull so we stopped tuning and ordered a clutch.

WTH? That clutch should slip at such a low power figure.

Did your trans mount flush to block without using bolts when you installed the twin disk? Do you have any clutch dragging is lack of disengagement?

not sure what happened to the clutch and yes it had the spec3 plus with the factory luk flywheel. that was installed by another shop not by me. we picked this twin up from jake @ motiv as soon as we noticed an issue i figured the 3plus would have held better also

i went thru two spec 2+ clutches that slipped with only 430tq using the LUK after proper break in, on the 3rd one went with SMFW, been holding ever since.

look forward to hearing how the twin works out!

That's an interesting data point. Perhaps your DMFW wasn't resurfaced. I had a 2+/DMFW with 500wtq for 20k miles that never slipped. I resurfaced it though.

Besides going great, did it sit flush against the block without using bolts? What TOB setting did you use?

Ours also went together fine, it seems there may be some manufacturing variance as some people are having issues and some are not

The spec 3+ for dmfw are a joke compared to the spec 3+ with smfw. Our 135 6262 car has a 3+ with solid steel and that clutch feels great. Firm pedal and clamps nicely. The 3+ with dmfw was super soft pedal (as soft or softer than stock with a large engagement window). They may both say 3+, but they are far from the same.

@cloakedm3 So you didn't snap any pressure plate bolts or feel like you over streched them out? Does the car creep from a stop in first gear? Are you having any difficulty shifting? To confirm AGAIN you placed the TOB on the high position correct? About where does the clutch engage... Low off floor, mid pedal height or mid-high pedal height (stock)? Also how many miles do you have on it?
Sorry for all the questions... Some of us are having issues with the twin discs :-/

no we didn't snap any pressure plate bolt or stretch them. what did you TQ the bolts to? the car does not creep at a stop the engagement is very good and yes its on the high side setting. i would like the engagement to be more at the top of the pedal but its more in the low to middle we will see how it goes. no issues with shifting shifts smooth

Besides the bolt issue, this sounds like our clutch, no install issues, and I am 100% confident the higher TOB setting will fix our low pedal engagement, and I have never once had it hard to get into or out of gear. Shift and clutch engagement is very smooth. We sound like are the minority though
