I don't think they have, no. I know they're pretty busy and not sitting on the forums.

As a newbie and a novice to AMG I'm going to keep my nose clean. This thread records an awesome achievement.
As for the trans. I look at it this way. I'm no engineer but I know some clever ones - mechanical and electrical.
Give me a MB Black Series transmission and a blank check and I'm CERTAIN I can find people who have never seen one to come up with a far stronger unit that could be shifted manually and mechanically whether via cable or linkage. I've seen Dodson do good stuff for GTRs.
Its a gearbox and if electrical impulses can shift the damn thing so could custom made linkages. The factory ECU will need to be told a story it is willing to believe, but inside a factory looking casing, there could be a bold new world. Factory casing doesnt mean factory gears. There is IP in there that someone had to pay for.
I'm confident of success if I had the money to throw at this, because I know what is possible. What I don't know is the cost or time involved starting from a clean slate and access to cad cam, and fully equipped engineering workshops with cnc etc. Maybe a year and $250k? Once I had the ecu and shifting worked out I'd certainly consider a market proven race shifter to adapt rather than waste money trying to make something unique.
But Weistec Know these trans and have years experience. That gives them a big head start.
If so, awesome, and when Weistec are ready to talk about it kudos for the effort.
There will be an upper power limit to even billet gears with an over drive ratio. The lower gears are bigger and will take more. I'm going to go back to the corner now.Hung like Einstein, brains of a horse.

Lol. I can see how some are here. I never accused anyone of anything. Just stated my opinion that from an engineering perspective it is possible to take a Mercedes trans casing and make the internals stronger and shift conventionally. Most got it, but someone negative repped. Hahaha, looks like we're going to have some fun on this site. But I'm done on this thread. Looking forward to seeing that first 8. That 9.1 is stella.
