GE cart iron repair
my job is repairing the cast iron blocks (frames) for GE here is a EVO i did in roseville CA.

GE FDL cast iron metal locking repair
this is a fdl repair i did for UP in south morrill NE. this repair is done without any heat or weld it is a mechanical repair.

@rader1 What's the torque of those connecting rod bolts?

Yep, usually a con rod breaks and knocks a can section out of the block or a counter weight breaks free and is thrown out.Depends. Either 420ftlbs for the master rods/375ftlbs with special tooling for the articulating rods. The evos use a torque to degree value and a hydraulic machine.
MOTIV750, MOTIV P-1000 PI, MOTIV/FUEL-IT! low pressure fuel system, AEM EMS/COBB AP, Aquamist HFS-3, ETS FMIC, SPEC stage 3+ clutch/SS flywheel, BC Racing coilovers and VMR wheels wrapped in Hankook RS3s.

Just caught this thread, I work in a similar field. Instead of just the locomotive engine, I work for a complete Train manufacturing company. Loco's, High Speed, LRV's ect..
