Alternator Relocation
Alright so i'm installing an Eaton M90 SuperCharger on my 94 325i.
I just bought a 140amp Alternator and will be removing the a/c compressor and replacing it with my alternator. My Supercharger will go where the Alt was, does anyone have any tips for relocating the alt or known if the visionracing alt plate for the m42 will work for my m50??

lol, the bat light came up apparently.....
Sticky, is there anyway for notifications to show when someone mentions someone?
In any case, How are you going to drive the alternator? off the main drive belt?
I've had to make stuff for my own cars, moving the compressor over the alternator, and general fabbing of brackets.
you're gonna want A/C, but i digress.
The bracket you speak of looks ridiculously easy to make. The issue I see is they used an M20 style alternator bracket, and that thing uses a V belt.
you don't have that type of luxury, and a serpentine belt.

sure, but it doesn't show in my notifications, like if I get a PM or a reputation comment.

it'd be nice if it came up under notifications (the little blue highlighted thing at the top menu) to say someone mentioned me so I can go check it out.

mmmm. that alternator looks kinda sketchy.
the upper bolt that normally goes through the oil filter housing assembly seems to not be supported the same way...... so the bolt looks to be really stressed.
lower bolt is hidden by the harmonic balancer, so i cant comment on that- but there are PLENTY of mounting bolt bungs on that side of the block.
a 318ti belt tensioner is the way to go, since it has an allen built into it to tension it.
