Why? It weighs roughly 3,800 pounds. You think 45bhp makes up for 700 pounds?
LMAO GT500 1/4 times....~11.6 bone stock.700 more pounds than the GT500 and only 45 more flywheel hp. I can't see the automatic in the hellcat making up the deficit in weight difference alone. GT500 will mop these up at the strip and the highway. This car will be purchased by older guys who want a comfortable ride and to boast about all the HP they have under the hood.2013 Audi S6 stock but shopping....

I think you're missing a couple things including that it has a new 8-speed that is quick and also that the difference is probably not what you think it is at the crank.
Additionally, is Dodge coming out with this thing and specifically calling it the most powerful muscle car ever to be slower than the established competition?
I don't know why you're hating on this car.BRAND NEW IN BOX 991.2 standard/non-pse SPW cat bypass pipe for sale - $899 shipped

I'm not hating on it. Just saying it's slow. They already bragged about having the most powerful muscle car in it's class comparing the SRT8 to the GT and SS. It was also the slowest. So yeah, I think they are choosing words appropriately. Most powerful, not best performing. I already mentioned the auto transmission, I didn't forget it. I said I doubt it will make up for the difference in weight. How am I off on bhp? 707 minus 662 is 45...wouldn't be surprised if WHP is even closer...
The car looks great and I'm sure it drives great, but what I'm saying is...why get excited over 707 hp when it's not going to have impressive performance along with it? Hell I bet a tuned M3/M4 keeps up with this car.2013 Audi S6 stock but shopping....

LOL saying its slow with 707HP + ridiculous instant torque of a twin screw blower combined with a fast shifting 8 speed that will have a great ratio spread .. were living in a crazy time for power. The 392 hemi before this is not comparable like sticky mentioned I bet it will be a bigger WHP gap with all the underrating going on. The previous srt8 also had a 5 speed slush box that was a very old outdated design the faster shifts and shorter gearing alone would make this a good amount faster with the same motor now add the extra power and torque it will be a beast. You also forget the gt500 is a roots blower which is the most inefficient especially up top and mated to long gearing 6 speed manual. This is a twin screw best of both worlds low end and top end
A tuned m3/4? How about when people do something as simple as a pulley swap and tune? 700whp? Probably at the price for downpipes on the m4. This will be a straight line monster no doubt ! A f10 m5 is the same weight and well down on power vs this look at the numbers its putting down a tuned m3/4 will barely keep up with it never mind this. I really think your underestimating this big time

The SRT8 392 is actually 200 lbs. lighter than you're quoting. Not sure where you got those numbers. Figure the Hellcat will be maybe 100 lbs. heavier from the supercharger and all that. The 392's run mid to low 12's in the quarter mile if the driver knows what they're doing and conditions are favorable. I don't doubt the Hellcats will break into the 11's. I do think the Shelby will still be the quicker car, however.
