Cobb race map with meth logs

    Hey guys,
have a question regarding the Cobb race and stage 2+ maps. I came form the OFT/ Procede mix and the car ran like a champ. Thought i'd try Cobb V3 so got the car loaded up. Now, it feels very strange.
Background on my car: 07 e90 335. FBO with Aquamist hfs-4.

So i wired in the aquamist kit and setup the failsafe. Went for a drive and it was really strange. I would get absolutely no boost till about 3000rpm and then the car just takes off. Did that a few times and got a P30ff code. Now i know there were absolutely no leaks in the car so started troubleshooting. Traced back to the failsafe. The wastegates would stay open and dump boost untill 3000rpm and then the car would take off.

Removed the safety wires and tried again, and the car runs fine without the P30ff code. No more engine codes.

Now for the sensation. The car is not responsive. It's almost like there is a lag and then she takes off. I attached a log. Will do a few more logs but for now, thoughts, advice?

    A few things -
    1. you need to get the fail-safe figured out; you are playing with fire. I highly suggest you load the car with the OTS stage 2+ map and really dial the meth injection in.
    2. I highly suggest you get a protune, i suggest PTF.
    3. The cobb "race" mapping is not optimized for meth injection, timing is too aggressive during ramp up when you most likely don't have the octane you need until the meth REALLY starts flowing.

    The log is "ok."
You're timing takes a massive dive during spool up, which is likely due to hitting a torque limit or other safety net which appears to happen a lot on cobb OTS maps in my experience. You also have a pretty big throttle closure right before the shift.

In terms of the car feeling unresponsive, its likely due to the throttle mapping of Shiv's OFT which is basically full throttle anytime you touch the pedal in the slightest. Did you load the stock throttle or linear throttle mapping for the Cobb race flash? If you went linear, try switching to the stock throttle mapping.

You can try to fix all of these issues yourself using Cobbs ATR software if you would like. I went down that road and it is incredibly time consuming to understand the relationships between all of the parameters. I could get the car to make great power, but after getting my protune i realized how much the drive-ability and attitude of the car sucked. $#@!er was fast though...

After many late nights, lots of fuel and meth, i just decided to get a protune and i couldn't be happier.

You are absolutely correct. I will be looking at the protune. It's on my todo list. As for fail safe, again, need that going. Just have to figure out how to work it. Will talk to dzenno as I know he has aquamist as well. I wanted to play with the maps a bit myself as well just to see how it functions.

    Thanks for your input.

You can email [email protected] or [email protected] and they will help you get the failsafe figured out. They've done A LOT of AM N54 installs.

Hey guys, question for the veterans with cobb and meth. Getting protuned and so far things are getting sorted but have an issue and hoping others may have run into this as well?

when I accelerate wot, the car takes off fine but then it almost seems like it starts to pull back as I go through rpm range. It almost feels like a grinding, pullback feeling. The car just doesn't feel smooth and free reving.

I get no codes or misfires. Any direction guys can point me? The logs look clean too.
