Infiniti is getting a lot of attention for the Q50 Eau Rouge concept and is hyping the car themselves. It is essentially a Q50 with the Nissan GTR drivetrain which makes for a high performance four door luxury sports sedan. It is an idea Nissan and Infiniti have played with for some time now and in an interview with Road and Track Infiniti president Johan de Nysschen states such a car will be over $100,000.

Considering that the Nissan GTR has ballooned into and over this range over the years this is not all that surprising. Nysschen states the car will be rare and definitely well above the M3 in price, 'I will say to you though, if we do commercialize the car, it’s going to be done in far lower volume. And in that sense be far more exclusive. And definitely a lower-volume, hand-built car, so the unit costs are going to be significantly higher. So the car will be priced well above the M3 – just out of necessity.”

So $100k for a four door GTR with low volume (roughly 250 units per year, very low volume) seems reasonable except for one little thing. It is missing the GTR's dual clutch transmission that gives the GTR its amazing off the line performance and shift speed. With an automatic transmission instead the Eau Rouge is not quite as appealing and it is not quite a four door GTR. That makes it not quite as good as what it initially seemed but until we get the official specs and it is officially approved for production things may change by then.
