Shelby on Shelby action - 2011 GT500 with a 3.4 liter whipple vs. a 2013 GT500 on E85
Here is some hot GT500 on GT500 action for you. The 2013 GT500 is on the OEM blower and features an aftermarket upper pulley, full exhaust, aftermarket throttle body, and a tune for E85. It is said to be putting out somewhere in the 730 wheel horsepower and 720 wheel lb-ft of torque range.
The other GT500 (it is also red) is a 2011 model year car. It features a nice sized 3.4 liter whipple twin screw blower. It also features an upgraded throttle body, full exhaust, and instead of race gas runs E85. It is said to put out 715 horsepower to the wheels so both of these cars are making similar power.
Keep in mind the 2013 GT500 got the displacement bump to 5.8 liters (from 5.4) and is rated at 662 horsepower stock. The OEM blower on the 2013 car is a 2.3 liter eaton TVS roots unit though so the 3.4 liter whipple car certainly has the advantage in the supercharger department.
The camera car is the 2013 GT500 for the first run and the 3.4 liter Whipple takes it. It is not a complete beatdown but it sure looks like the 2011 is sandbagging the quoted wheel horsepower a bit. The view from the 3.4 liter whipple GT500 is shown afterwards.
The second run goes down much like the first with the 3.4 liter car taking it. It's simply too much blower to overcome even with the 5.8 liter aluminum block.
Great video from our friend @AWD75 and congrats to making it to the brand new FordBoost front page.

Those are some fast cars, but that black car towards the end of the 2nd video was faster than both of them.
