    Something sharkishly silly?!

Greetings fellow forum members, moderators, and sponsors.

I have recently come into ownership of a fairly nice 10/84 e24, with a moderately well done turbo setup. I have come here to seek out answers to my questions, advice on how to "smooth" out the "rough" edges of this setup.

My goals out of this project are: daily driver/intelligently done hooligan car for track and exhibition purposes, but must be tastefully done.

For power I would like to sit around 430 rear wheel torque and have it smoggable for ca Click here to enlarge

The the way the m30b34 is currently setup is flipped stock exhaust manifolds, a connector pipe, a holset wh1c "big" turbo, a tial 38mm wastegate, begi rrfpr tial bov either 30# or 32# injectors, TCD timing/rev limiter chip, big exhaust, fuel air ratio gauge, and a boost gauge. Probably some other stuff too, but mostly seems like a slap it on and go type of deal.

Issues I need to resolve, Do I take the hit and do something like a mega suirt for efi (which I cannot locate one for the m30 with a 059 dme) and switch out the ign system while I am there, or do I go to miller and get some of the stuff they have?
Having a hard time picking the proper clutch for what my intentions are, however I am leaning toward a SPEC stage 3 possibly stage 3+.
Would like to do a proper P.C.V system if necessity dictates (which it most often does imo)

plans: itb kit, some headwork, more efficient twin scroll set up from the exhaust manifold to the turbo, methjection, different final drive ratio, lots of weight deleting, maybe even some carbon work, if i can get off of my ass and get it done lol.

Thank you in advance for your input.

    Welcome.

Let's get you in the right engine section.

Miller's WAR chip is fairly basic as I understand it. Is the Mega Squirt the more capable option for controlling a turbo M30? I think so.

You will want to talk to @Mike@VAC regarding your clutch concerns.

Ok, thank you for the information, I was hoping to avoid taking that hit this early in the game, but necessity does dictate. From there, logically speaking, should be a home brew MAF conversion and what else? So now that MS has been decided upon, is there one that is directly pnp for the bosch 059 or? Also if there is anyone available to discuss these matters in the bay area, that would be awesome.

    Thanks again

Well I popped a hole or more in the "turbo manifold" so now I am in dire need of a twin scroll manifold for the car that can handle this madness. So if there is anyone in the SF bay area looking to make a couple bucks, pm me and lets make a deal and get this done. Cometic head gasket is on the way from TCD, already have the arp stud kit. will post pictures later on tonight thanks again.

forgot to mention, I have experience in wrenching on BMW's but not a whole lot of experience in the turbo world, so I would hope that someone on here would have a definitive place to set this boostnub on the path to tire smoking wastegate cracking greatness!

I don't know if a new turbo manifold is an option but AR Design has them.

MS is great for these engines. The maf will be eliminated, as I would just use the MS map sensor for speed-density tuning. The MS can support maf tuning, but I would just stay with the map on this type of build. Your best bet is to start reading through threads on mye28.com. Those guys have lots of experience turbocharging the M30, and MS is usually their go-to tuning platform. There is information there on setting everything up correctly.
