Active Autowerke Level I E9X M3 S65 V8 supercharger dyno comparison versus G-Power SKI supercharger
Nice to see a direct comparison like this on the same dyno which is very hard to come by in the M3 world. One reason being that some companies do not like not being in control of dyno charts released especially when they stacked up against their competition. Additionally, when their competition makes them look bad as Active Autowerke does to G-Power here. The graph tells the story and the even more important than the peak power figures is just how smooth the AA torque curve is in comparison.
Now, G-Power does make good hardware so do not get BimmerBoost wrong here but they are often overpriced for what you get. This is a good example. The G-Power SK-I setup costs $11,150.00 and the SK-II setup runs $16,150.00. For that money you get 399 wheel horsepower versus 448 wheel horsepower for the Active Autowerke Level-I kit which costs $8995. You can even go up to the Level-III for $13,995 and have much more power for less money than the G-Power SK-II.
It is not even as much about the power as the peak torque between the two is even but the G-Power tune is clearly leaving a lot to be desired. The torque curve gets choppy and drops off. This G-Power kit would likely look much better with a custom tune from another tuner. Regardless, why bother?
This perfectly highlights why G-Power can not beat US tuners especially when it comes to horsepower per dollar. It seems to live more off being a name brand in Europe than anything else.

$11K for 400 wheel? Pls. Absurd.
Do companies like AA, Gintani, etc simply not have much presence/traction in the EU market? Agree G Power makes quality product but the value proposition is piss poor. Platform is capable of so much more for the money.[I]E88 N54 w stuff

Anyone done a S/C inot a turbo on the E9x...
BTW - AA products seem to hold to exactly what is advertised... guy here has a really nice newer M3 with a 600+ hp blower set up from AA...he loves it... great reliable car and so nicely tuned... will ask him what stage he has and whp/torktalk etc etc

They certainly do. Their own lvl 3 made 586whp. My car did 591whp with similar dyno setup. It was 50F on that day here so making good power.

All kits should be fairly equal no matter which brand you purchase. Unfortunately they are not in the real world.

FYI G power kit is much cheaper. In fact they have specials (2 w/in past year) that priced their entry level kit @ 6,995 if I recall. G power's kit is very, very nice.

None of G power kits are non intercooled. A few times a year they have sales. One just happened, and earlier they did like 30 kits for 6,995 in honor of 30 years in business. I have to find the email, but I just got one from someone there a few weeks ago saying they would beat the last discount. Sometimes (when they go on sale) they are very, very good deals.
(Entry level kit is still FMIC, but I believe it's aluminum airbox, not carbon and the orange colorway is also an option I believe)

I haven't seen that pricing maybe they had a special but generally G-power is very overpriced: http://www.bimmerboost.com/showthrea...-M5-and-E63-M6
