1600HP Audi R8 vs 1800HP Lamborghini vs 1400 GT-R

This car has been fitted with stage 2R twin Turbo kit from underground racing making 1800 hp on race gas.


In the Video its set to 1600HP.

When it comes to the Gallardo and R8 5.0 liter and 5.2 liter V10 platforms Underground Racing is the undisputed champ. There have been others such as Heffner who put up a fight (barely) but Underground Racing aggressively defends its position as the premier option for turbo V10 Gallardos and R8's. This particular E-Gear R8 V10 features the 2R built motor and transmission package that is capable of over 1800+ horsepower but it is running roughly in the 1600 horsepower range at this particular event.

The event is run from a rolling start on an airstrip. One of the Underground Racing co-owners brought it out to Texas and the result certainly is favorable. Underground Racing was really competing against themselves considering many of the other cars in attendance were running their turbo packages including the silver 1800+ horsepower UGR 2R twin turbo Gallardo.

The R8 had the fifth fastest qualifying pass at a healthy 198 miles per hour. Once the elimination passes started the R8 was matched up with a 1400+ horsepower GTR. It made fairly easy work of it.

The next run had the R8 against the 1800+ horsepower Gallardo and the R8 won. How this is possible considering the power and weight disparity favors the Gallardo is anyone's guess.

The R8 then went against a Underground Racing 1800+ horsepower Gallardo Superleggera. Are you beginning to see a pattern here of who built the majority of the fastest cars at the event? The R8 edged the Superleggera as well although it looks the R8 is getting a jump which allows it to build and holds the lead.

The final features the R8 against another Underground Racing 1800+ horsepower Superleggera. This one happens to be black and the R8 comes out on top again. It looks like the Gallardo got on the gas early, let off, and the R8 got on the gas to take an easy win. The problem with these types of runs is getting the cars to start at the same speed in time.

Regardless, Underground Racing builds some seriously fast cars. Especially considering that the elimination rounds basically consisted of them competing against their own cars.

Oh maybe, but a dct would make sense considering the advantage it had over the cars. Would be interesting to a see the highest stage ugr package in a dct car.

Car is not a DCT, you can see the e-gear shifter inside for a second in one shot. Saw this video a few days ago, pretty crazy. I have a hard time believing this car was only making 1600 hp, considering what it did. Maybe a little sandbagging They are the undisputed champs.

Makes perfect sense. This thing is such a sleeper too...apart from the barely noticeable wheels, its just another R8. Serious weapon.

Brandon Jacobs car isn't a R8 GT iirc. Also it looked like every run consisted of the Gallardo mis-timing the green and lifting off as the R8 got on the throttle.
