New quickest and fastest stock bottom end CTS-V - Vengeance Racing built CTS-V goes 9.5 @ 143 with some nitrous

In case anyone had any doubts about the strength of the LSA internals this result may sway you. The LSA supercharged 6.2 liter V8 in the CTS-V is essentially the same architecture as the LS9 in the Corvette ZR1 but instead of forged pistons it uses cast pistons. They both use the same ring set.

Now just because the pistons are cast does not necessarily make them weak or that they can not support a good amount of power. Many cars just by replacing the rods gain considerable bottom end strength even when still using the stock pistons. The LS9 in the ZR1 has very strong forged titanium rods. The LSA on the other hand does not making this all the more impressive.

This CTS-V on nitrous puts out 946 horsepower to the wheels and 904 lb-ft of torque to the wheels. That is with modifications including trick flow heads, a race fuel tune, custom cam, ported OEM blower, higher boost pulleys, and a 130 shot of nitrous.

Will the LSA last at this level with the torque hit from the nitrous? Probably not for too long when abused. But it lasted long enough to set some new stock bottom end records. A 9.597 pass at 143.58 miles per hour certainly is an impressive accomplishment and a new quickest and fastest stock bottom end record. Also keep in mind this was done on the stock torque converter and stock transmission.

    Congratulations to those involved.
