Golf tee mod on 550xi?
Hey
Just curious if the golf tee mod that worked so well on the 135/335 would work on the 550i.
we took a quick look at it, and it seems the actuators are spring loaded, so the exhaust defaults to closed. I don't think it'll work the same way.
Any thoughts on easily getting the v8 to make a bit more noise?

I have been wondering this same thing. My good friend just picked up a 650i, he wants some more exhaust sound.
I have seen this exhaust mod with safety wire. (sorry Sticky for linking to that forum)

Golf tee mod won't work - the flaps are opposite on the 550 and need to be forced to stay open mechanically. Or you can buy one of these: http://www.exhaustmeister.com/
If you can figure out which pins they are attaching the switch to, keeping them open without a ziptie can probably be done for free...
