    He is looking for PUMA records similar to what I have posted. He came to this thread as its the only one that references FASTA Data and as far as I know this is the only forum those pictures will be found that I posted.
    Yes, you are right. Part of the data comes from freeze frames, which can be easily erased by any "offline" diagnostic tool. But (it seems) there is also another source, that is not decoded by ISTA, only downloaded in raw binary form. This second one is that I am mainly interested in. Not to erase them, but to decode them.

    the freeze frames are hard to come by as they are released either from a warranty dispute or warranty cancellation. The few times I am aware that fasta was read for no reason it raised flags as the freeze frame comes from BMW's servers.
    The magic is to raise the trigger points.
    I do not think any other ECU than DME/DDE is involved to store freeze frames or similar information, furthermore all services are standardized (meaning of data is BMW-private). Service 17 is used on KWP2000* / BMW-Fast / D-CAN, or 19 for UDS.
