This is not true on the e9x series M3; I have seen this when demonstrated for other BMW cars, but I can hold mine for much longer than 5 seconds, however never counted exactly.

Same here (re: 5s) - is it really only +/- 500RPM? I am surprised on that - but usually launch with default settings, and have never done it for timing purposes.

I drove LM's car today.... Words can't describe it. The power is so smooth/linear, it felt stock ....but with wayyyyyyy more power. It's the fastest car I've ever driven. There is no surge or drama, it just hooks and goes. I feel sorry for any e9x m3 or 135/335 that runs him. That kit plus the dct is unreal. I can't believe how well that car drives. I also can't believe that's the base kit, when he ups the boost, it's going to be sick
That's kind of the point. It really doesn't matter what an N54 or other cars do as they will never match the power delivery or feel.

I don't know if it's 500 rpm I could get it up to around 6200 from the 5500 default.

Ok right so you're saying you want to ship over your car to the 'Ring? And drive yourself? Or have someone else drive it there? In case of the former, you should count on taking a one-year sabbatical so that you can learn the track. And even then I wouldn't risk driving such a powerful car anywhere close to the limit...but you can of course always let a pro drive your car and see how fast he/she can drive it on a lap. Probably by far the better solution.

    Agreed.
10's are impressive.......in 1992. Click here to enlarge

Anyone who races, or even hangs out at the track, needs to see 9's in STREET trim to respect a car in 2014.....especially one with an aftermarket supercharger.

I dunno. It's cool to see a 'street' car run 9s, but nearly all of them save GTRs and Gallardos, aren't running a 'street' trim. They're running $#@!ing drag radials and race gas or E85. If that's what it takes for you to 'respect' a car, then you're a $#@!ing tool.
