Question Potential TMAP sensor issue - Cobb Log

    Hi,

I've got an 09 135i 6AT with approx 70,000km's on it, running Cobb Stg1 Aggressive with no mods bar intake filter and B3 flash. I've recently become aware of an issue with a shudder felt while hard accelerating through the 2k-3k range, felt mainly in 4-6th due to time spent in the range but definitely there in 3rd very briefly, can feel it from the seat however I think I've come to chalk it up to high loading the driveline. I've replaced plugs and plan on cleaning the inlet valves soon anyway. During the testing I ran some logs and noticed my Charge Air Temp as always stuck at -53.05F (IAT shows up and changes.) I do not get any codes or faults so I think I should just replace the sensor which I believe is the TMAP located on the charge pipe. It's interesting that I do not get any faults though, I would have though if it was open circuit or out of range there would be something going wrong, I also do not know how long it has been like this. Pics of the log below and I can supply a log if anyone wants it, just can't supply links in posts yet Click here to enlarge I'd be very grateful if anyone has any insight into this. Thanks in advance!

Log of the run, note the 0 is offset, timing steadies out at 0 +/- 0.5. Seems I have a bit of a crazy bank 2 O2 sensor as well.

Now when I add in Charge Air Temp you see it stuck at -53.05

That appears to be pretty solid evidence that your TMAP is fuct. I'd replace it and have another go.

Let me know what your rom version is and also what firmware you're using. It could certainly be a failed sensor, but I can verify the monitor if you get me that info. Send me an email. [email protected]

Most likely your TMAP but definitely verify with @Josh@Cobb.
