Mercedes already giving the W166 M-Class a facelift - Spyphotos

Well, um, that was fast. The W166 M-Class debuted in 2011 as a 2012 model year car. So roughly two years in Mercedes is already updating the styling. Why? Because they can apparently and because a quick refresh will drive more sales for people to have the 'newest' and best version of the car despite the changes only being cosmetic. I mean let's be honest, many people buy a Mercedes just for looks and not because of what is under the skin.

So just as the W212 E-Class and C218 CLS-Class received cosmetic changes so will the M-Class. It looks to be only the front lights and the front bumper receiving adjustment as the rear lights will stay the way they are.

The interior will also receive cosmetic changes likely influenced by the new S-Class.

What about the drivetrain? That also appears to be staying put. If you were about to order an M you might as well hold off a little bit before Mercedes makes your design outdated for the sake of change.

I think they get some kind of sick twisted pleasure out of it. Their resale values sure do tumble.
