MotorTrend's facelifted 2014 W212 AMG S 4Matic wagon M157 V8 test numbers - Curb weight, quarter mile, 0-60, skidpad, etc.

We all already know MotorTrend had the W212 E63 S Wagon in their possession as it was featured in MotorTrend's world's greatest drivers car competition and their World's Greatest Drag Race 3. The wagon got the full bevy of tests though and put up some impressive numbers especially considering this is a 4703 pound vehicle. 0-60? Comes in only 3.4 seconds. The quarter mile? 11.7 seconds at 120.4 miles per hour. And the skidpad? How about a ridiculously impressive .95g.

Keep in mind this is the wagon we're talking about here. The sedan should be around 400 pounds lighter. Using the old drag racing rule of thumb that means the E63 AMG S sedan should be capable of an 11.3 second quarter mile time with a 124 mile per hour trap speed. Yes, whoa.

The 63 AMG S models are going to be a force to be reckoned with. Performance numbers below.

The M5 even with the competition package won't be able to match this thing off the line but it will be interesting to see the highway result. Should be pretty close actually.

I'm starting to really like that car. But if i was going to drop 120-k on car I'd get the sedan and get a DD wagon TDI.

If I am correct MB sent that car via plane so they could use it for the test. I actually subscribe to Car and Driver magazine so I'm wondering what they're going to do on their testing!

Still an amazing car but i'd defiantly get in the blue though. less flash and more sleeper!

Johnny Lieberman from MT wanted to run the wagon. He's always enjoyed the wagon and asked MB if they could send the wagon instead of the Sedan. Plus that plane had the SLS black series on it. So I don't see MB forking out for a 3rd car to be flown in via bigger plane or 2nd flight.

I have no idea how many cars the plane they used can hold and although the wagon is cool (it truly is) I would opt for the highest performance version available in a performance shootout.

Why not? I'd love to pull up to a C6 zo6 and give it a damn run for its money for a 0-60 sprint if not 0-130 and show'em what a wagon can do!

Besides keeping up with a Gt500 and stomping any American muscle car that 1/4 the price of that car fully loaded would be priceless!
