The Kenne Bell setup is a hunk of junk for the HEMI engines. That silver Jeep was Paulie's. never went faster than 10.0's with a 426 in it and 17psi. We have 6.1L's aka 370ci and single 76mm's running that. The IAT temps get STUPID hot with those blowers. Challenger owners have seen 220+ at the end of a run. Not to mention if you try and put a 3.6L KB on a Jeep you have to modify the firewall. There's one guy with a 2.8L KB on 7psi and he went 12.1's. NA 6.1L guys run that.

Paulie was good at making videos though. I'll give him that. He also blew that Jeep up more than I think anyone. FWIW, if you or anyone you know has a Jeep, tell them to go turbo or Vortech. Even the new Procharger kit which is bad ass has belt issues.

Hate to be the barer of bad news but you are so far off on the HP number and setup it's nuts. You'd need a full forged bottom end for that blower plus modify the firewall to make it fit, relocate the battery to the other side, and modify the current POS intercooler system KB uses. My advice as a one shop owner to another shop owner..... stay away from a KB build on that truck. Nothing but a nightmare.

    REALLY.

Thats news to me. Ill take any advice you have towards me on that. have you seen a mammoth in person? KB claims it on their site as a bolt on with tuning and a stock engine. are they lying?

I guess you think what the government tells you is truth too huh? Lol. It's a bolt on kit for the other HEMI's being the Challenger, Charger, Magnum, and 300's but not the Jeep. If they told you you can slap it on with no changes and make 1000hp they're full of chit. I pushed my stock block about as high as anyone has and we made 864rwhp and that was without 0 stress on the crank with a turbo. You add the stress that a blower, a KB at that, puts on a stock crank and those POS stock pistons, kiss that engine good bye. There have been guys with 8psi Vortech kits popping engines left and right. I think mainly to tuning personally. We've built 13 Jeeps so far and 3/4 of them have been stock bottom ends. We've only lost one due to the owner getting greedy at the track. Lol.

There's only one shop I know of that's put a 3.6L on a Jeep and that's Spankin' Time out in Cali. There was a shop called King Motorsports in Va that did I think it was a 2.8L on a 426 Jeep but it could have been a 3.6L. Either way, both Jeeps were pretty sad performing. There's only been ONE blown Jeep in the 9's and that's my boy Brian aka BJB. He's got a 426 with a Vortech YSI with a cog drive. He's been 9.40's. Next closest thing is that silver Jeep above at 10's. Both have 426's and both were running the same boost. BJB's Jeep was tuned by our tuner and Spankin' Time did the above Jeep. What's that tell ya? Click here to enlarge Lol. I've been into Jeeps and SRT8's for the last 5.5 years man. I can tell ya anything you want to know. It's kinda really sad. Hahahaha.

I'm loving it. When it comes to new platforms, I'm a sponge to information.

I'm not ignorant to the fact the power costs money, and stock engines (normally) don't like big power....
I'll take your word as gospel since you have way more experience than I do with these engines.

I also completely agree with you. longevity and power is a very fine line and lots of tuners don't know where that line lays. They always go for power, and not conservatism.

Video is a little overboard for me, just show the runs and let us get on with it. 1100 WHP and only trapping 129-132 seems a little bit low to me. Hey @TurboJeep can you shed some light on why the traps would be so low with his HP numbers being so high? Don't know much about that platform. I do like the SRT's. We have been seeing more and more SRT Calibers with failed upgraded turbos. Guy from this site found me and now we are working with him on remedying the issue.

You seem to have a really negative view of the KB blower. I really like a positive displacement personally but of course a turbo will be more efficient.

Vargas..... He's claiming BHP not rwhp. The Jeeps are heavy and have the aerodynamics of a brick. His Jeep was always fast out of the hole but then fell on its face on the top end. There was a lot wrong with that build. I know he was getting nasty IAT's up too which I'm sure was killin his power. There's no telling how much knock we was probably getting unless his tuner desensitized the knock sensors like mad.

Sticky..... it's not that I hate the KB's bc I don't. They're a NASTY MEAN blower. On a Mustang they're brutal. For me in my realm of HEMI's, it's not even close to a viable option for me or to recommend. The intercooler is a pos. We got into it with a KB rep on the LX site and he admitted they didn't design it all that well. He kept trying to say there weren't IAT issue when we have 6 Modern Hemi events and I've seen the datalogs of PLENTY of KB vehicles and they're stupid high. Guys having custom ice chests made for them. He kept saying, " well on the dyno we don't see any issues." Ummmm yeah bc that's a couple second pull vs a 1-4th gear pull with more resistance.

Dont get me wrong man. PB blowers make stupid power down low. They're driveline assassins. I'm just an old fashioned turbo guy man. A 76mm turbo vs any PD or Centri blower for a HEMI will kill the blowers psi to psi. Obviously parasitic loss and all that but still. All the fast KB HEMI guys have to spray it to keep up with boost only turbo guys. Again, I'm just speaking from a HEMI stand point.

Why doesn't anyone just upgrade the intercooler on the KB setup?

There's one guy who tried to make a new version that's thicker. Don't know if he ever finished it or not. I think there was a clearance issue or something. I lost track of that thread. I think he's got it down from 220's to 180's at the end of a run now. Our PCM's unless turned off, will yank all kinds of timing out of the engine if IAT's get outta whack.

Im dyno'ing a Jeep tomorrow that made 1103rwhp at 19psi on a 419ci with an 88mm we built last year. We ran out of fuel pump. We just added another pump. 3.6L KB HEMIs are around the 900rwhp mark at that boost. It's a clear winner for my choice. Lol. Customer only wants 9.50's-9.60's. he's already been 9.80's on 17psi. Should be fun tomorrow. Haven't decided if I want to push it any further. Just want to mainly make sure fuel pressure isn't dropping anymore. Can't wait.

Under the general automotive section there is an american cars section. Feel free to post the dyno there I'm sure we'd all love to see it. Plus I'll just move it over into the Hemi V8 section once I finish it.

I take that back. That silver Jeep made 930rwhp at 17psi IIRC.
