VW issues TSB's regarding 2008-2011 model year cars with 2.0 TFSI motors - Warranty extended to 10 years or 100,000 miles on intake manifol and injectors

If you have a 2008-2011 Volkswagen with the 2.0 TFSI motor pay attention. Apparently there are potential issues with the intake manifold as well as the injectors. Definitely call your dealer if you fall into this range but the good news is there is no need to panic. Volkswagen has extended the warranty on the problematic pieces of 10 years or 120,000 miles whichever comes first. The warranty extension is even transferable if the car is sold, traded, etc.

You will know you have a faulty intake manifold as the indicator light will turn on so simply go to the dealer and get it replaced. Details on the warranty information and the TSB are posted below. If you have questions contact the VW warranty helpline at 866-306-8447.

Hmm. Wonder what was changed in 2012 that it wouldn't affect my car.

Wish BMW would do the same for the 335d's and our issues with carbon build up due to the NEW emissions system which BTW is a POS!!!

while our intakes are prone to carbon buildup. This TSB isn't for that issue.

We have little flappers in our manifolds (the FSI engines had them too, but could be removed, ours cannot), along with a flapper motor. Occasionally these will fail. Lots of guys got $#@!ed on this because they were modded.

Chris we 335d's are having issue with carbon build up due to FAULTY DDE and timing, on the contrary the X5d's are not having issues, some of us with JB RENNtech and Evolve flashes have not been affected YET!! We suspect its the maping for fuel since the X5d is heavier, thus so far no issues with us but yes with other that are not modded.
