JB4 G5 ISO CPS Offset for Nitrous

    Hey guys,

Regarding CPS offset, I would like to set this up on my N54 to retard timing 3-4 degrees when Nitrous is active. Is anybody using the CPS offset that is now built into the JB4 G5 ISO???

I want to set this up as I currently have 2 maps that I flash with Cobb (map 1 for straight E85 and 100% meth & map 2 N20 map with 3-4 degrees less timing and a 12.0 AFR fuel target when nitrous is active.

I know CPS offset is old school but I only need to retard timing a few degrees. This woudl also benefit guys running E85 and if they had to fill up with pump gas they could retard timing a few degrees and lower boost with the sterrign wheel controls... Would be much easier and something I could do on the fly while driving......

Is there anyway to wire the CPS offset to activate via a switch & relay???

Like I said via email we've not done any nitrous development for a long time and don't plan to do anything beyond what is already there. My advice is to write a flash map intended for nitrous use and load that map when running nitrous or planning to run nitrous. Using the JB4 nitrous activations to trigger it. I'd keep the shot below a .28 jet and run at least 1500ml/min of meth with it. I'm also not a CPS fan and don't plan to spend any additional time on it's development. I know Shiv is in to it so you may find some luck with him offering something more dynamic if he still offers any nitrous support.

Where I do plan to spend development time in the future is on having the JB4 able to directly reflash the DME directly.

I guess I forgot to mention I spoke to terry on this and why I'm asking the community for ideas since he is not developing the system further for nitrous..

There has to be a way to use what your currently have setup and make CPS work off a relay and switch

with open source flashing coming why not just do what Terry said and flash the DME with a nitrous flash? it's free. and a flash will be better than any CPS using a switch/relay.

Im doing that now with the Cobb AP.. Kind of sucks to pull over, flash the car, do a few pulls to let the car adapt.. Then I get to spray it..

Yeah, i agree that's one of the downfalls of flash tuning. prob safest bet though. when dealing with N2O safest is better than more convenient Click here to enlarge

It's going to need to adapt to the duty cycle changes, AFR changes, fuel trim changes, etc, required for nitrous anyway. Maybe you can find an advance curve that works well on and off nitrous by changing the boost curve on to off nitrous if so inclined. The same AFR curve will be fine on to off nitrous. Around 11.9:1 up top.
