Rotary displacement is a little different. It does more combustion than a traditional four-stroke piston motor per rotation so the argument can be made it's a 2.6 liter but regardless rotaries are cool.

Exactly - kinda like a two stroke - they get 1 power pulse per crank rev as opposed to 1 for every 2 for 4 stroke piston engines. I had an rx-8 and still wish I would have kept it sometimes. One of the best handling cars ever IMO. Gas mileage blew goats though - like ridiculous amounts for such a small little thing. Much more than my M3 - much. Originally Posted by Sticky
