Newb questions
Brand new to the N54. I am considering adding the JB4 to slightly increase the fun factor of this car, but have a couple of questions, since, after searching several forums I'm still unclear on some things:
Are the different maps on the JB4 there to allow for further modding?
Does this device actually learn, and update itself?
On a stock 335i, does it allow switching from a stock to a tuned profile?
These questions have probably been answered 100's of times; I'm just having trouble finding clear answers!

The JB4 self adapts to the car, mods, and octane as you drive. Just install and enjoy.
You can also switch maps and enable features on the fly. Everything you need to know is posted here: http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10605Last edited by Terry@BMS; 03-27-2013 at 12:32 PM.

Are you dead set on the JB4? Not that there's anything wrong with, but have you considered the COBB tune? I just bring it up because if you plan on running an FBO setup or E85 blends, you'll need a flash tune to achieve your fueling needs. It also easily can install from tuned to completely stock in minutes without popping open the hood or breaking out the toolbox.

I'll be running pump gas. It's a DD that I just wanted to add a little extra umph to. Not planning on any serious racing, just playing at stoplights and on the freeway. The car is a CPO with the 100,000 mile warranty, so I like the idea that I can just unplug it if I have serious issues.
Terry, I'll have to check that out next time I'm out your way!

Bear, your avatar is too tiny for me to see exactly what it is, but I'm guessing dive bomber? I had a great uncle who was a radioman/gunner in a Grumman TBF during WWII!

The JB4 has been sitting on my dining room table for a couple of days now. I'm holding off on the install because I called the dealer about the battery cable recall/upgrade, and I'm scheduled to get this taken care of Tuesday morning. (Thank God I'm off next week.) I ordered the Cree LED AE bulbs (installed) and LED fogs also. Thanks BMS for the quick service! I love the look of the whiter AE's!
I'll post again when the tune is in with my newb review of the JB4.
Welcome aqiii,...
