Bimmerfest Carvan - NorCal, Bay Area, Reno & North West States
http://www.bimmerfest.com/bmw-events/Bimmerfest-2013/
I figured I roll down to Bimmefest this year and as I have not seen any post on caravans yet I figure I start some. I have posted these details on all the BMW forums I am on so hopefully we will get a good size caravan. Roll down is on May17th 2013.
Event updates and information will be posted on the Sacramento Valley BMW Car Club http://www.svbmwcca.org/events.html
Here is my proposed break down for the Pacific North West, Northern CA and Reno.
--------------------------------------------
Sacramento / Northern CA meeting / caravan details:
Where - Laguna 76
Date – May 17th 2013
Address - 2323 Laguna Boulevard, Elk Grove, CA 95758
Meet Time – 8:00am
Depart Time – 8:30am
--------------------------------------------
MAIN MEETING LOCATION
We will drive down and meet with hopefully the Bay Area contingent. Depending on how big everyone feels like making this, may try to call Gunnies for the larges BMW caravan? Wild idea tossed out there.
Where - Target parking lot behind the Sonic.
[b]Address - 3080 Naglee Road, Tracy, CA 95304
Meet Time - 10:00am
Depart Time - 10:30am
--------------------------------------------
Please bring a MOTOROLA two way radio. Split the cost on a good set with someone if you do not / need them. This will help in organizing the group on the LONG drive down as well as help relay safety information.
--------------------------------------------
I will work on group rates for everyone at the following hotels. I am not a fancy person so if you want something fancier than a clean room and a bed you are on your own.

For those interested in going to Bimmerfest this year, I am planning to lead a caravan for the Northern California community. You are welcome to join or caravan on May 17th on the drive down to Pasadena. As those of you from WA, OR, ID, and NV have a little farther to go then all of us here in NorCal, I have included some hotels you can use as a rest stop on your way down to join us.

For those who have or want to post about the Bavarian 500, I have reached out to the organizer to see about making a larger caravan. I was not aware of the site when I made this post so pardon me for trying to help organize something.
I have also reached out to my drive group and club groups who are not on the forum in an effort to have them join either one or a combined caravan.
Below is the proposed drive details which I forgot to include in the original post.
Meet in Tracy, take I5 and cut over to Hollister. Here we could meet the Bay & Bavarian 500 gang to hit a 55-mile section of back roads for a change of pace on the long drive south. We would then cut over at King City and follow the old route to Paso Robles. After a pit stop, cut back over to I5 and down to Pasadena.
Total trip from Tracy is 412 miles and would make for a full day of driving. Longer for those of us coming from Sacramento Area and Reno / Tahoe.
I hope to have some group rates on hotels wrapped up this week or next.

Has the old info and I could not edit it. I made a new thread with the correct information. Don't want to confuse people.
