550 horsepower M157 Twin Turbo V8 powered 7-seat freight train - 2013 Mercedes-Benz GL63 AMG test numbers (0-60, 1/4 mile) and curb weight
The GL63 AMG is simply an absurd vehicle. Absurdly awesome that is with its 5812 pound curb weight being propelled by the AMG M157 Twin Turbo and direct injected V8 which provides 550 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque. Car and Driver tested AMG's new SUV and the acceleration for something so massive is astonishing. How about 0-60 miles per hour in 4.8 seconds and a 1/4 mile time of 13.2@109?
This is a 7-seat SUV folks. Oh, and it handles, pulling .84g on the skidpad which is ridiculously impressive for such a barge. It is absolutely possible to have 7 people in this SUV, pull up next to a Porsche Boxster, and pull away from it from a stoplight with all your passengers helping you wave goodbye. This SUV is simply ridiculous and BenzBoost loves it.
Oh, and think about the GL63 AMG with a simple ECU tune. 12 second 7-passenger SUV anyone?

That's just stupid....I'd still rather have the ML63, with the M157 of course. Now imagine that with upgraded blowers.....

The 70-0 braking is the most impressive number to me, in the full magazine they said that 162ft would have tied for first place in their most recent sport sedan comparison!

the R63 with this motor = fastest minivan around lol.
Benz is really handing it to the competition these days. The trans are very robust, very rarely see issues with the direct injection systems here, very few HPFPs going bad (none so far in the last 3 weeks). BMW needs to step up to the plate.
