It isn't the in the tunnel the whole time but that video illustrates the S54 difference quite well. They will have some similarity but the S54 is different and more exotic. Which one sounds better is up to you. The correct answer is S54 though.

S54 sounds better of course, but the N55 can sound pretty damn good almost like an S54 with a good aftermarket exhaust!

I know it's not S54. But this thing sounds really out of N55 league from the cabin. Almost S54 like. I had 335i N55, never sounded like that.

Because it's audio system pumps fake sound into the cabin. And BMW kept it as a secret. SMH
