Long live the king of the standing mile....283mph Ford GT
@Sticky ....credit MUST be given where it is due....PERIOD...lets see a euro do that....
'Merica $#@! Yea
Performance Power Racing reset the record for the fastest standing mile (car) this week at 283.232 mph.
Johnny Bohmer, owner of Performance Power Racing (USA), broke the record at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA, using a 2006 Ford GT to set the record.
The standing mile is an event in which a vehicle, from a dead stop, accelerates completely through the one mile mark.
The West Palm Beach based Research and Development Company worked directly with Pratt and Whitney on a new high specific strength, high temperature tolerant, Aluminum Alloy named Pandalloy™.
Parts were specifically designed and manufactured out of Pandalloy for the Ford GT used in the attempt.
"Our entire team has worked very hard to get here and we are proud to be able to put an American car in the record books as the fastest street car in the world." Mr. Bohmer said about the achievement. "By NASA allowing us access to a one of a kind facility, we are given the opportunity to push the limits of these technologies and explore their benefits. An immense amount of research and development went in to this 3 year project and we are just scratching the surface of where these systems can be utilized outside of the racing arena."
The run was measured by Tag Heuer timing equipment and verified by officials from the International Mile Racing Association, who recognized the run as a new IMRA world record.
Johnny's crew included Matt Lundy (lead design tech), Jeff McEachran, Frank Richert, George Brown and Matt Lilly.
Sponsors of the car included Big Stuff, Eye Candy Performance Car Care, Magna Fuel, Moran Racing Engines, Snow Performance, NLR Power and Control, Pandalloy Extreme Performance Aluminum, Performance Power Materials, Precision Turbo & Engine, and Serious Autosport."We need to upgrade your skill before we upgrade your horsepower"

The S65 in my car satisfies me. That's all i care about really. Good response, good sound, good performance, not-so-great mileage but hey it revs to 8250 etc...
I don't know who started this game, comparing the S65 to serious platforms i mean. They are on a whole another league when gets modified, the S65 is not in their league at all. But it's good for what it is. Very few engines can match it's charm in stock form.

trust me i get it...but i do know a more powerful motor when i see one....stock for stock or aftermarket vs aftermarket....i think now its safe to say my LSA > S65 in terms of making more power stock for stock....i do however agree that your S65 is by far more technological and fuel efficient....but honestly....i drive my V on the weekends when its nice....i dont care about MPG....and i dont care about HOW it does it either....when both of our motors are built my LS will STILL make more power built vs built.....there should be no disputes there...will your S65 be better at making it? i dunno....probably....but guess what....we all basically know now that a built LS with a great tune is damn near bullet proof....my motor and all the $#@! that it has been through is still alive @Mr.Squeeze and @Sledgehammer know everything that motor has spit out or broken and never once has its rotating assembly or block skipped a beat....now when its built with the entire callies compstar family of parts....its gonna be even more resilient....matter of fact im changing my callies crank name from dragonslayer to S65 slayer

I'm gonna talk to some of my peeps at P&W and try to see who exactly did the R&D because I didn't hear about this and I'm right across the street.
Some people live long, meaningful lives.
Other people eat shit and die.
I'm not racist, I hate everybody equally; especially fat people.
