We tried the mini cooper plugs back in the day. Nothing but a headache...surprised they work now?

Stock Replacement Bosch plugs are fine.... The NGK plugs are just like the Okada coils -- INCREDIBLY overpriced & not worth it unless you regularly track the car. enrita's car goes on the Nurburgring, dzenno usually is testing some very aggressive tune settings (so a misfire would be an unnecessary headache to deal with while tuning) & shiv is running a car that's using more meth than gas when its WOT
I'm using the BMW plugs with my 93 octane & E85 blend ProTunes, never had a misfire AND if the NGK plugs were good for another 100 HP, I'm pretty sure that'd be the 2nd most popular mod after a tune2018 Mercedes-Benz E63 S AMG (W213)

I've been looking for these plugs for a while. Any local suppliers in Toronto? Best price I've found is still $20ish over OEM BOSCH replacements...

Whoa what??! I paid 11$ each for my 5992s.
Look around on the internet. Amazon has em for 13.79$ a piece. I found them for 12$ shipped on a few websites.
You can get them from any mechanic with a wholesale acct for cheap.
For them to work properly they should be gapped to .7mm
The point of these plugs is safety, not power, more power = hotter engine. Colder plugs help. If you need more information about it consult google or a trusted tuner

^^Dzenno acknowledges here that the OEM/Bosch plugs are fine, but the NGKs have the benefit of running slightly cooler. IF you're running aftermarket turbos & big power, then it makes sense to upgrade the NGKs. If you're running FBO+Meth/E85, you're fine with the OEMs.
So once again, unless you're regularly tracking or running aftermarket turbos with a very aggressive tune, the OEM plugs are plenty fine.2018 Mercedes-Benz E63 S AMG (W213)

I have been running stock replacement plugs since April and Pro E-Tune since beginning of Sept. All is well and no missfires, but then again I am not that aggressive compared to others.
