The Ultimate Flame Thrower: The McLaren MP4-12C GT3

I really like this new McLarenMP4 but it just looks a bit bland in street trim. These GT3 cars looks some much better obviously....what full race car doesn't ? Anyway....the exhaust note on these things is so nice not to mention the flames.

    That's crazy!

    Top comment is hilarious: "
The GT3 McLarens don't need brake lights anymore... If you see those flames coming out you know they're definitely braking"

    Unburnt fuel while downshifting.

Looks like those may have been with all that latent fuel being ignited for so long...but I can't imagine that those guys would not be running a perfect tune. Looks like it's just when they are off throttle during braking but there are so many variables...exhaust configuration since it's mid engine thus less exhaust length from manifold, fuel being used is a big variable, type of transmission and the timing of fuel cutoff during upshift and downshift...I've seen some street cars do this on upshifts. Just hard to say without knowing more about their setup. In any event, they are bad ass.

Pretty wild - and awesome. Click here to enlarge

It looks like the stock MP4-12C even does this - http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...t/viewall.html

I really am impressed with this car - I just finished reading the latest Car & Driver, and they had a good review of the car. They basically said it was unreal - in it's handling/braking/power - etc. and was something you could easily drive everyday. The only issue was ground clearance - but with the numbers they got out of the car, that would be the least of my concern. It ran 0-100 in 6.1 seconds - quarter mile came in at 10.7s @ 134 , and it's braking was astounding - 145 feet to stop from 70 mph... The M3 (for comparison) takes about 15 more feet to do the same. I will always take the F1 over this, but it's still an awesome car to say the least.

They look amazing in race trim.

I did not like the MP4 in photos but when I saw it in person I changed my mind a bit. It's growing on me.
