BMW AccessPORT v4.00 BETA Maps Now Available
Beta maps for the BMW N54 AccessPORT are now available for download and evaluation. These v4.00 BETA maps were developed to provide smoother response, more power and address the 3k RPM "surge" that some users have been experiencing. In addition, Stage1+FMIC BETA maps have been released for those cars with upgraded intercoolers, but without the necessary exhaust modifications to satisfy Stage2 hardware requirements.
Please note that these are BETA maps and may or may not perform as intended across all vehicles. This BETA release is intended to gather feedback from early adopters and incorporate it into the maps prior to final release. If you are unwilling to experience potential performance inconsistencies or provide constructive feedback on these BETA maps, please continue to use the General Release v3.01 maps until the v4.00 maps are finalized and come out of beta.
Maps are available in the BMW AccessPORT Map Database. Simply click the red BETA Maps button, review the acceptance page, and click the I Accept button to be taken to the BETA v4.00 maps. If you are unfamiliar with the process of downloading maps, transferring them to your AccessPORT and flashing the ECU, please review our Step-by-Step Map Download and Transfer Tutorial.

Can't wait to test out the linear throttle v 4.0 this weekend. I hope it will be good!

I did have some boost oscillations, going from partial throttle to full throttle on LT maps stg2+agg or sport, around 3k to 4.5K RPM. Haven't had a change to put these to the tests much, still giving it time to adapt, but seems a bit better so far.

there is always some adaptation to be done.

I took the car out for some logs and tests. I tested with Stage2+Aggressive Linear Throttle. I also downloaded their latest beta firmware.
First impressions: the tune feels a lot smoother than v3.01 which is good. Part throttle boost control seems more refined and more predictable than before which is also good.
Noticed some interesting stuff: Cobb have added additional logging channels. Some of the ones that I found interesting: gear and torque output. The gear log did nothing for my car and I think this is related to the fact that I have 6MT. I think on auto cars, you will have the ability to log which gear you did your logs on which would be very convenient. It is often difficult to remember which pull was done on which gear if you do 10-15 in a row.
Anyway here are two logs that I found rather interesting:
Notice the torque output in Nm! Max torque according to Cobb AP is 788 Nm which translates to 581 ft/lbs. I don't know how Cobb are calculating torque output, but of this is true, that is some nasty amounts of torque! LOL
The second log below shows that boost/load/output is still bit choppy but definitely not as bad as before. There are half as much local peaks in the boost graph as compared to v 3.01.
Overall verdict: I like the direction in which the development is moving! I am confident Cobb will nail it and finally remove the rest of the choppiness. From all the things I've lost,
I miss my mind the most!

I concur the v4.01 maps are less choppy than before.
Also, tried the ST for the first time on S2+, 6MT. Eh, not my thing...full power comes on way too quick for my tastes. Going to return to LT.

Did some back to back hwy pulls today on S2+ Aggressive, v4.01 maps. Numbers are right where I was expecting them. I certainly see an improvement in part throttle smoothness as well.

It's been ~4 months, no complaints with the Beta Maps, but any word on when they'll officially be released (assuming they'll be accomponied by a Firmware Updated & a slightly refined version of the Maps)

benzy89,
The current maps will be superseded by v4.02 beta maps across the board in the near future. The v4.02 beta maps address the boost oscillations some have been experiencing. The v4.02 beta maps will remain in beta for a few weeks and if the feedback is positive, will be promoted to full release.
Thanks,
Gary

SWEEET --- Threw in 2 gallons of E85 with Stg 2+ Aggressive last nite and the car ran like a cheetah
Would def recommend that anybody who has access to E85 to start blending 20% and buy a gas can to keep some in the garage

I only had to go ~20 mins away, but it was in the freaking hooood. I felt like a NASCAR pit crew, pumping 3 gallons into the car, 3 into the jug & then reflashing the DME for the Stg 2+ Aggressive tune. I didn't even box up my AP again just because I wanted to get into a "safer area" before it got dark out
