    custom mercedes tuning - 2001 CLK55

hey everyone, i just found this site and im looking forward to learning some new information. my first question has to do with tuning my mercedes. i have a 01clk55 amg that i am using for a twin turbo project. im currently in the planning stages and one of my hurdles is currently tuning the car. i could always send out the ecu for mail order tunes or try to find a somewhat local mercedes tuner but i would prefer to tune the car myself. so this leads me to my issue... i cant find any information about tuning a mercedes. i would like to edit the stock maps but i dont know if this information is made available to regular people like me or if thats someone you have to pay big money for. if this is not possible it looks like my next best bet will be to use a piggy back system, i have been eyeballing a system from aem and have seen it used on a turbo'd 430 before.

does anyone have any information or suggestions on tuning possibilities? i tried contacting bosch the maker of the ecu and i received no reply.

tuning it yourself will be BIG $ for equipment, then the stock file as they are not public. Then you have to know what your looking for as its not like a ford or gm and labeled.

Piggy back is an option, but you will lose some of the functionality of the car.

If you need help let us know, we have done many turbo conversions on mbs using the stock ecu.
