I must say, that color is stunning! Also, congrats if this record holds true as it is faster than the GT2's 7:18.

Mr. Iida- San has set this record on the full Nordschleife during a customer meeting with LF-A buyers held on wednesday 01.09. and thursday 02.09.2011.The news was brought to Mr. Tanahashi – San ( chief engineer LF-A project ) during the wednesday evening diner and he was delighted but said they had to wait till the record time was approved officially.
The video with driver Iida-San is indeed part of the circuit as every LF-A customer was able to join one of the drivers for a quick lap on the track. Therefore it was during this time not possible to do a full lap as the cars had to go thru the pit. My best guess is that about 250 meters track was closed to organize this pit lane stop action.
During the record setting the full track was open.

LF-A is a very well engineered car. not all cars are the result of a 10 years R&D.

Nice time. I'd still take a GTR over the LFA though.

You wouldn't even have to upgrade the turbo's for a GTR to beat an LFA. Stock vs. stock, a regular LFA is only 0.1sec faster than a GTR in a 1/4 mile. 2009 GTR lapped Nurburgring in 7:29:03 (2011 in 7:24) while the LFA did it in 7:38. That's pretty weak for a $400K car vs. $80k. I bet if Nissan came out with a Nurburgring edition, it would destroy the LFA Nur. Ed. time.

The LFA time for the 'ring for 2011 is 7:30 iirc, and that is on stock tires. Not sure what the GTR used but the LFA for the 7:14 run, it was on stock tires as well. With some R compounds, you can shed off a few seconds I'm sure.

you can shave 10 seconds easily of your lap time with slicks.

for the 7:24 lap time, GT-R was in stock tires too. I believe a SpecV can beat LF-A nurb pack in nurburgring.

I wouldn't doubt it, the R35 is as much a marvel in engineering as was the R34.

It truely is. I love the fact, that each motor is handbuilt, so you know those crazy Japs, put their heart and soul into building that car. To me that makes it all that much better.

It is one of the best sounding cars in the world right now.
Some people live long, meaningful lives.

Other people eat shit and die.

They never built it to be profitable. However, they did fail a bit with it. They should have learned from Bugatti.
