    Dyno of my 550I

So I finally picked up my 550I last week and drove right to get the car dyno'd. My plan was to get it dyno'd go get the Dinan installed and then dyno it again the same day. All of this was on the day I picked it up and before someone says I need to break in the engine first I did ED so the car was plenty broken in. I also got the oil changed right after I picked it up and before the dyno. This was on a dynojet so the numbers are a little higher than had I used a mustang or some other dyno but this shop was willing to dyno me till 11pm that day and was right next to global bmw who was doing the dinan so it worked. Overall I'm pretty pleased with the power curve and the torque on this car is crazy impressive. It was about 4pm and about 40 degrees when it was done. I messed the first run up as the car fights you alittle about being dyno'd and we had to overcome all the little nanny's first. I would have done another one to have three good runs to compare but the car was heat soaked after the last one and as I said i was on a tight schedule to get the results the same day. This car gets hottttt when you get on it and it would definitely benefit from some additional cooling. I never got to install the Dinan or do a follow up dyno as I was rear ended right after leaving the shop and now my car sits at magnum collision getting repaired. Anyways here is the dyno graph enjoy! Max HP was 386 and Torque was 439.

Nice! Damn that's a lot of torque. Could benefit from some downpipes.

I'd love some. Actually I wish there were some options for these engines. Seems like all the development is being focused on the N55 right now. I will probably stay as is and mod my RB until the market catches up.

    Ton of power stock.

Thing is such a stump puller though, top end falls off hard.

All these new turbo motors are insane with their low end torque.

Andres, did you ever get to dyno the F10 550i after the catless downpipes and Eisenmann mufflers were installed?

Luis I haven't had a chance because I haven't had the car back since then. Truthfully though it will be hard to compare as that was in the middle or winter and the dyno would be in mid summer but hopefully I'll have a dyno with a tune as well soon. I'll shoot you a pm tomorrow with an update.

Yeah I got them but the car is getting a custom tune so it will be a while before it's complete.

We need to see the numbers with the DP's and exhaust before the tune! I want to see what it puts down as well.

Who is doing the tune again?

I am really excited to see what kind of power this car makes! The X5M made amazing power with these mods, and it's a very similar engine.

AFAIK, Shiv @ Vishnu is doing the tune, as that's where the car went when it left our shop a bit ago.

Do you have any update on this Andres?

The car is with me and I will have it dyno'd soon with just the downpipes and exhaust no tune. I haven't been playing too much with this car as I've been traveling a bit and have been focused more on my drag car build.

Btw chris I don't think I got back to you guys to tell you I LOVE the down pipes. You guys did an excellent job and although I don't like to speak without fact at hand I'm fairly certain I'll see good results on the dyno with no tune but obviously much bigger improvement with a tune to fully utilize them.

No the tune isn't done I had an option to getthe car tuned but I needed the car back and didn't have time to allow for the proper R&D. After December I will have more time to leave the car for the time required so hopefully beginning of next year it will be tuned.

I could probably get OE Tuning to hook you up but you aren't local. Where are you again?

I'm in Alpharetta, Ga. I was gonna dyno it yesterday but I got the fuel level sensor error(known problem with the F10) and so that limits my boost to 3psi until I take it to the dealer. When I get back from Dubai I'll have that sensor replaced then it's straight to dynolabs
