Lexus LF-A laps Nurburgring in 7:22.58

Supposedly this was just a warm up for a "real" attempt at a record later this year:

I'm more concerned about it being slower than the Z06.

Hmmm, cheaper and just as quick with a non-automated-manual tranny..... (that's for you Sticky) Click here to enlarge

The C6 Z06 is an incredible bargain when you think about the performance. Then you start dreaming about mods......

Thats crazy fast! You guys are nuts... and it is .1 second of the Z06 time. Thats nothing on an 7+ minute circuit. The only faster cars are the ZR1, GT2 RS, and the Viper ACR. Also take into account since it isnt as fast in a straight as any of them I believe its making up the time in the corners. Not too shabby and it weighs more than them too.
    Current:
    14 Viper TA
    Wsir - 1:28:9
    Buttonwillow C13 - 1:54:1

The car is nuts I agree, but so is the price! The Z06 is actually reasonable. And aren't they lease only? So no matter what you have to turn it in eventually?

It's crazy fast just rather amazing and old school pushrod V8 is running faster than the hi-tech carbon fiber Japanese showcase. Kind of sad for the LF-A in a way.

The lease is just to prevent people flipping it for profit right away. After the lease period you can buy it.

That wasn't the regular LFA though, it was the Nurburgring version. The original LFA lapped it in 7:38. The regular 2011 GT-R did it in 7:24 in a semi-wet condition. Kinda meh when a $80K car is faster than a $375K car on the ring.

    Not that cool still. I'll take a z06, GT-R, GT3 RS and a M3 instead. Thank you!

Why isn't the LFA being included in magazines comparos/tests against other cars. Is Toyota not giving them out for vs. articles.

It would have been nice to see this car in the test that Car Magazine did the other day, that included cars like the MP4-12C, 458, 911 GT2 RS, etc.

Would have been cool to see it but all those cars are cheaper than it and likely would beat it. Any one of those cars I would choose over the LF-A if ever given such a choice.

It would be nice to see where exactly it stacks up.

A number of those cars do have faster nurburgring times. Also cars like the 458, GT2 RS, ZR-1, GT-R, and others all have quicker test times around Hockenheim short.

thanks for the insight, i thought the time was impressive until i heard this was a 'special' edition. $#@! that, how many special edition LFAs are they gonna make? 2? they make 2000 special edition corvettes and they are called ZR1's and they will spank these two special edition LFAs.

Impressive time, not impressed with basemodel LFA. LOL Basemodel LFA

It is kind of amusing. The Toyota Supercar that they sell 2 a month of needs a special edition to run with a Z06.
