s62 swap into a bmw e90
Hey guys,
I am thinking of dumping an s62 into my e90. I have looked into tuning the n52 but there is just nothing out there. I could buy a new car, but this car is sentimental to me and I just wont. It will not be my daily driver so I will make it my project car. With the weight of the e90, I think a n/a v8 s62 would make this car much more fun. I can do the swap myself but I am just worried about the wiring. I need all my electronics to still work. I know you guys know your stuff, any help would be awesome!!!

Well, it would be a very interesting project that is for sure.
The S62 is a nice motor but I have to say that it certainly would be easier to just trade it for a 335 or M3. Even would be better to get an E39 M5.
Getting all your electronics to work will be a pain in the rear end. I-drive certainly will be lost and who knows what else. If I were you I would message Neel@Apex Speed Tech on the site and see what he has to say.

thank you for the response, I just finished emailing Neel. My daily is an x6 50i which I love. This is going to be my project. The car is already crazily modded so I have already put my heart and money into it. I just want to make it faster, much faster. lol... Nobody has done this swap so I sort of want to be the first. I have always loved the s62

I have a 335 3L tt n54 motor for sale swap that in its alot cheaper then the s62!!!

And just how do you propose he control it? That's the DI engine and the stock ECU has very serious CAN bus integration; do you know anyone who's been able to do a N54 transplant with stock electronics?I have a 335 3L tt n54 motor for sale swap that in its alot cheaper then the s62!!!Neel Vasavada

dude make it a V10 swap, definitely will be harder and more expensive but at the end you will dust even some SC'd M3's.
