Took My first Log. Need Some help.
Hey everybody,
Took logs for the first time today. It was so easy, yet I was still able to mess it up. I had a nice 1st through 4th gear log, but I didn't realize when I exported it, it would only show the part that I was scrolled to.
So, you only get to see my shift from 3rd to 4th, and almost all of 4th. Luckily this still shows what I need help with. I need to get rid of the bog. I already have bog fix set to 100. What else can I do?

We don't provide 1-on-1 support via forums. If you wind up needing help just email us. Include a CSV format log as well. Typically if bogfix is already enabled you just need to shift a touch slower.

I'll let you know when I need your help, just didn't feel like bothering you just yet. Thanks in advance though. Shift slower ehh, that seems counter productive. I'm going to have to try to remember my previous global settings because I didn't have bog until going back to default.
Yeah I realized that last night. I'll try to get more logs tonight. Just kinda hard due to the recent crack down on aggressive driving around here. Literally a cop at ever corner. I think I may be getting some throttle closure though. I had DTC and DSC off, but it still felt like they were on between shifts.Current: E46 M3 s366, e85, ms3pro evo, smg->manual

It's not. You'll run about the same ET/MPH whether you shift at 100ms or 200ms. But if you try to shift too fast the DME intervenes in the same way it does if you try to do a burn out with traction control on. You'll get the same response stock or with any flash tune. None of the JB4 global settings have anything to do with it unless they are facilitating you shifting too fast. That is provided boost is on target before and during shift which a log will show. The bogfix setting also doesn't effect it. It simply holds boost higher during shifts to avoid losing momentum when going in to the next gear. I think the magic number is around 200ms but you'll have to play around shift speed.

As expected, Terry is right. A slightly slower shift speed results in no bog. I did another log this afternoon. This one is from 2nd to 5th gear.

It does seem counter productive, and I've felt this myself, but I'll give it a try next time I go to the track and see what happens! I'll probably have to tell my self to slow down out loud, it's hard to remember when there's a big block running next to you.

I'm going have to tell myself the same thing. Although the actual shift speed is marginally slower, not having the bog definitely outweighs the loss.
