Auto Express compares the new Aston Martin Virage to the Mercedes SLS AMG

The Aston Martin Virage is the new GT in the Aston range designed to sit between the DB9 and DBS. The car has a 6.0 liter V12 putting out 490 horsepower. Auto Express, British auto-journalists, decided to compare it to the SLS AMG. We mentioned they were British for a reason, as they pick the Aston over the SLS, big surprise. Why? Well, actually they say they pick it because of the interior and because it is an Aston Martin. Seriously guys? The SLS as a performance car is lightyears ahead of the Virage sporting the tired old V12. The DBS isn't a match for the SLS, and neither is the lower performance Virage.

Pathetic that they would put this Aston Martin on top of the SLS AMG. How ridiculous, those guys make no $#@!ing sense at all. That old V12 needs to get canked. The SLS is superior in everyway. It might not have an Aston Martin interior, but that's not to say the quality of it sucks. Everything in that car is very high end. Those brits are just like the Japs, everything made in the UK=better than the rest of the world..........

The SLS interior is awesome, they act like it's a Chevy.

How can you pick a car just because of the badge on it and admit to doing so as your reasoning?

The Brits need to be banned from reviewing cars.

Aside from the interior category, I personally think the SLS beats the Aston Martin in most of the other areas: engine, chassis, suspension, performance, and even sound. Looks would be based on personal preference but most of the other categories, in my opinion, the SLS dominates.

For one second my mind went to "The Aston has a V12-" but I quickly remembered that the SLS makes 70 more horsepower with a V8 while also sounding much better Click here to enlarge why can't Aston Martin for once make a car that's as fast as ANY of its competition? They look great and sound pretty good but I have heard plenty of people say they drove one and couldn't get over the lack of power compared to the Ferrari/Lambo or whatever else they ended up with.

But they have an Aston badge, so they win.

Maserati's and Aston's don't win because of the cars they give you, as Joseph said it's because with the cars they give unique badges that make you feel unique.

I'm an Aston sucker, to me Vantage V12 is the greatest car ever produced after 599 GTO, but even though I'm really biased to Aston Martin I would never pick Virage over SLS.
