The Deleted F10 M5 S63TU MAP sensor calibration and tuning discussion

I received various e-mails on this topic and this discussion was deleted on another forum. Well, as it just so happens I tend to leave browser windows open plus a user took screenshots. We're more about technical discussion here than vendor sales.

So, let's see where the chips fall:

There is not a single word from any sponsors on the boards saying that they can bypass the MAP sensor calibration. On top of that, any high powered Fxx are still forced to use tuning boxes combined with software reflash to once again allow the usage of higher rated pressure sensors. If anyone had this calibration perfected using factory software (not jb4), then I'm sure there would be information about that posted a while back, but that is not a case.

Why are you showing something that is like minimum 1 year old.
I have done this map sensor stuff long time ago and same story with others, this is not a big deal anymore.

Show us something new, what can you do that I can't for instance lol.
Nice sales speach in the first post, but I mean, what is new here? This is something I have done for hmm 15 months now - nothing new.

TMAP scaling has been done already. Its just not advertised much... there are hiccups with fueling at 800+whp level (therefore alternate controls are used) so if you have figured that part out... kudos!!

Before making our statements, we have searched high and low to find anyone calibrating MAP sensors, and nothing has been found. Maybe we have missed something, but from what we have seen so far, no one even talked about calibrating higher MAP sensors. Yes anyone can come here and say they have done it, but there is just no proof or supporting argument for that. On top of that, having calibrated MAP sensors that cause fueling issues at higher torque figures means one thing, they are not calibrated correctly.

What do you want so I can prove it for you? Again, this is nothing special.

Why is the dyno stopping at 5700RPM ? Misfire? Stuttering?

This guy showed up late to the party and is asking us for proof. Smh.

Do not want to be a dick, but stock s63 MAP sensors are capable of handling 23psi. Once you start passing the 24psi mark, 3.5bar sensors would be highly recommended. Also I searched the entire thread posted here and there is no word about map sensor calibrations using a reflash. A lot of talk about maps, but not an actual map sensor calib.

Let's make sure we are talking about the same thing first. We are not talking about flash tuning (calibrating stock firmware for higher desired torque) but instead a full MAP (absolute pressure) sensor calibration using a higher rated sensor.

What are you trying to tell me here? That I use a piggyback like JB4 to get above that limit? Dude, why would I post the tables I have, so you and others can have a peek?

My M5 F10 ran 26 psi on 99 RON (94 oct for you guys - or wait, your homepage is German registered??) Why is that, you get files from other guys ?

Halim, Kevin and myself have been doing this for the past 6months. Stop thinking you were the first. It's really not a big deal. The stock sensors do only handle 23psi which why they need to be changed for applications requiring more boost. Plus, you can't just change the sensors without tuning/scaling for them as you will get a CEL.

posted a proof of MAP calibration in action, that's it. I have no problem doing. So far, most s63 do run JB4+ tune to bypass the MAP limitation and there was not a single word anywhere on the forums saying that calibration of 3.5bar sensor using factory software is possible.

What Kevin said is right, it is common sense to upgrade MAP sensors when building a proper tune, though I'm yet to see anyone selling and calibrating higher rating sensors. There is not a single word or advertisement for that. You can see companies over west east coasts advertising stage 2 calibrations and hardware kits but Not a single one ever mentioned a MAP sensor. Why would you spend time building something and not advertise or promote it so that average user has no clue it even existed.

If that is true, then good for you guys. Before we joined the boards, we have been asked many times by s63 and n63tu owners as to why there are no higher MAP sensors tunes available unless they use JB4, and this led us to making a post about that aspect. We have searched everywhere, and just like ibsaid before, there is no talk about MAP calibration at all. If we cant not find it, thrn how can a customer easilly access this information? Clearly customers do not see what is available as the advertisement is just plain non existant.
