Well, the internals are different, that is a fact. And the thing is...it seems to have some serious heat issues, since the automatic cars are the ones having the real heat problems. So overall, I'm not super impressed with it.

I'm not disagreeing about the heat but the internals function similarly. The main difference really is the torque converter.

We're strictly evaluating if the GM 8L90 can shift as quickly as an auto as I found the claim absurd but the more I researched the more I realized in theory it is very close. It may be faster than many dual clutch boxes even.
