gintani stage 2 M6 customer review

    taken from M5board

    Hi guys,

For some time I had been researching to get my vehicle boosted. I looked over at ESS tuning and their numbers didn't really make me want to spend 14k to get it done. So after speaking with some friends I ended up getting some balls and going with Gintani. I realized A couple of things.

    1. I would be the 2nd car they did apart from their shop car.

    2. There had been a lot of speculation about this shop for awhile. One m5 had their vehicle supercharged by them and had some sweet performance numbers. There was an issue with a radiator hose line that caused the vehicle to have issues. None of which had anything to do with thier super charger kit. But sadly, drama ensued and their name some how was damaged.

    3. My car was going to be all the way on the other side of the country.

    4. How would they take care of my baby while it was gone.

    5. Most importantly, how can I get get my vehicle to perform the way I wanted it to, can they really help me?

I contiplated an at first I spoke with Arno. He showed me the direction I wanted to go listed what to get, and what it would cost. I looked at the price tag and it worked for me, being a single business owner I know how sometimes business can be really well or really crappy. So I indeed wanted to push the envelope at the time. Gintani as a business, At first I was sketchy given all the bogus rumors but than after I got the ball rolling with my first deposit to get them to come pick my baby up my concerns went away.

Sadly before I could send my car out, I had a TUNE from EUROCHARGED <--- it was one of their catless tunes to remove the CEL light my primary cats were gutted. That with my RPI ram air intakes I pushed the car as far as it could go. As time passed and gintani was scheduling when I was going to have them pick my car up, my engine let go. Bad. I don't know how it could of happened but I noticed over the coarse of the time the car didnt pull as hard as it did the first time I flashed my ecu with eurocharged tune. I am not blaming them what so ever (at this moment).(gintani can explain what they saw in the tune) I told Mr. Alex and Mr. Arno that I had to swap engines and needed to send them a fresh car before we decide to proceed.

They wanted me to let them have the car just like the way it was but I had already promised the work to my bmw tech. Than hard times came around at this time (yeah real perfect) I had business issues, living issues, and also family issues. I got through it all an after trying to find a new engine DURING this time from bmw the price for them was completely out of the question.

Along came TROY JEUP, a busy working single business owner like myself. I told him what happened and said he can take care of me. I said "Wow really bro?!" and he sent me an engine, with a gurenteed that it would work perfectly fine. He even encouraged me to beat the crap out of it and would warranty any parts on it that could of been broken or defective so long as a certified bmw tech installed it. I told him perfect and fine.

My engine came and the installation happened. At this time we installed my Agency Powered catless headers and I also heat wrapped them to supress heat since I couldn't find a shop fast enough to power coat them. Than the car ran like a champ, pulled harder than it ever did. I called alex and arno and told them to come pick up this bad boy. They said it would take a week for the truck driver to come get her. Well I figured "well **** I guess i can have more fun with my car before it goes away for awhile) well for some odd reason RIGHT BEFORE the day they were suppose to get it, I get the red cog of death. (Great) I don't know why my tranny wasnt shifting correctly, I was so madddd.

I parked her over and my tech came and got her out of her. The tow truck finally came to pick up the vehicle to take it to gintani. I had already explained to arno and alex what happened. I than started researching on this forum and I thought my smg pump went out. So again I looked at Troy Jeup for help. He sent me a tranny with 14k miles perfectly good to go. It made it to gintani and strange enough the problem went away when they were driving the car. They had informed me my battery was defective. They replaced it and some how everything worked fine.

    Now the good stuff

Alex had my car on a Dyno Dynamics. Now for everyone, there has been a lot of speculation about this reading lower than the mustang dyno and yes it sure does. It is known as the heart breaker dyno. My car dyno'd at 420rwhp with the headers tune and rpi intakes. And over 620rwhp after the stage 2 gintani kit 680rwhp on a dynojet at specialty Z. That said I'm sure gintani will chime in to give me my dyno numbers on here and videos.

    Conclusion-

I am a little upset I did not reach my 700rwhp mark but thats close enough, I have since been in contact with Arno AND alex to upgrade the supercharger since its out of effencincy within 2 months. They did a lot of this work with little to no profit. They are a great group of guys, they really made me feel taken care of , and gave me a feeling like guys I've been friends for years took my car when we had been in contact for only 7 months. I am officially the first gintani powered m6 in the states next to their shop car. I encourage anyone out here to try them out, they really stand behind their product. I am in the process of receiving my vehicle as we speak by a great shipping company called Global Auto Transportation they deal with and this company is VERY professional.

Special thanks to Troy Jeup - I can't say enough good things about him, a great engine, a great guy. He bought back my tranny I bought from him I never used because mine was good.

    FUTURE PLANS

In one month I will be swapping the clutch out. Gintani informed me I can NOT launch my car at this power without the great possibility of blowing my clutch it even though its brand new. So in 1 month I will switch to a spec 2 clutch to hold the car down. I will also UPGRADE my tires, I currently have nittos 295s NT05Rs in the rear for traction, I will go for 305s-315. I will have to slightly roll the fender in the rear and get some lightweight wheels for it. My goal is to run 10s in a 1/4. I am sick and tired of people calling the M6 a fat pig that can't run 10s or a car that can only go fast from a rolling start. I will also install Dinan gears as well. In two-three months I will upgrade the blower and go for 700rwhp++ than in winter time I will source a stroker motor and send this puppy back to gintani for a 1000rwhp build. Thank you for reading pix will follow I am on a mac...barely know how to use this thing.
