So far we have the Q3, Q5, and Q7 for sale from Audi. A Q6 to rival the BMW X6 is on the way and now a report from AutoBild points to a Q1. This would be even smaller than the Audi Q3 and based on the Volkswagen Polo platform. That also means it would not be much of an off-roader or offer much utility in the form of towing or space. The Audi Q3 has yet to make it over to the United States (it likely will to compete with the BMW X1 and Mercedes GLA) but is there even room for a Q1?

Yes, the United States is SUV obsessed but this amounts to nothing more than a raised Volkswagen Polo with some different sheetmetal and badging. Is it necessary? No. Will it sell? At an entry level of sub $27,000 more than likely.

Expect to see the Q1 as a 2016 model.
