I wish I could feel sorry for him, but I don't. He's holding a grudge from the 70's. I wasn't even alive when this happened.

Triggered by an Email from Doug at TMR. For those that enjoy Laguna Seca raceway ... it appears the Hwy 68 Coalition headed my Mike Weaver (it's really just 7 vocal home owners who moved into the area POST Laguna Seca raceway's existence) are yet again pushing to get Laguna Seca closed permanently.

Mr. Weaver wants the sound enforcement down to 90db (for 2013) and has initiated another lawsuit with the county under "environmental impact" to get the race track closed once and for all.

Most unmodified street cars will not pass 90db at full throttle - and motorcycles for sure will never be able to pass.

Mr. Weaver's mission is driven by his brother's death in 1978 -- his brother chased the family dog (assumed got spooked by the noise of a car leaving the raceway onto Hwy 68) into the road and got hit by another vehicle. Hence the birth of the Hwy 68 Coalition. Although I sympathize with Weaver's lose, he clearly has misguided motives and is looking for something or someone to blame ... unfortunately that is everyone that wants to race at Laguna Seca.

I encourage those interested in racing at Laguna Seca please contact the Highway 68 Coalition to obtain more information and their point of view and additional details on their mission.

Mr. Weaver can be contacted by phone or via this email: [email protected]

    here is their web page

Here are the ca.gov sound restrictions - pending how you read it, 96db is worst case and 101 db best case ... but it appears these can be adjust by a "division".

WTF is wrong with people? 'Shocked' by the noise from a race track? Why did you move next to it? It should be illegal to be a moron:

Hi, My husband and I just bought a home on Laureles and are shocked by the noise coming off the track.

This is ruining our ability to enjoy our property.

We’d like to learn more about how to stop this track from operating with such noisy races.

    This should be illegal.

Is the county allowing this use under a CUP? If so, it is a conditional use that should never be renewed.

Has a CEQA document been prepared on the noise?

Thanks in advance for your help.

^ The track is ruining her ability to enjoy her property. Well, she is ruining my ability to have faith in humanity. I don't enjoy people trying to shut down a historic race track that was there before they ever moved in as if it came out of nowhere. Can I sue her for that?
