Whats with the smoke after let off on the dyno, ive seen it happen on some cars and not on others? is it just blow-by? is that normal on FI motors? is it bad? sorry for the OT

sorry i didnt catch this question first time i looked through the replies. i believe the smoke after the dyno is caused by the tuning. when you run WOT like that the cylinders are igniting and are sustaining much higher temps than when he was at partial throttle bringing the revs up to dyno speed. when you let off, especially on a car making that kind of power, you need to spray some fuel in there for the first few strokes of engine braking. otherwise the temp differences can crack something or worse. that fuel that tuners spray in gives the cylinders enough time to come back down to temperature. i could be completely wrong but i believe this could explain the smoke.Quote:

If any of you ever get the opportunity I HIGHLY recommend seeing Top Fuel dragsters run in person, there is just nothing else like it.
Can you find some 1/4 runs of Nelson Racing builds? I can't seem to find many.
