Trade value's aren't written in stone...they're subjective to the person appraising or determining it's value
.
No worries, just trying to be fair minded...
But to be fair, Book Values are guides to help determine value. If you want to REALLY know what actual market value is, visit an Auction (either online or in person). If the consumer is not willing to put in the effort to maximize THEIR overall trade allowance or value then they shouldn't be overly upset with what they get...just my .02

I agree but auctions also require people to have licenses at least the official dealer auctions I believe.
No matter how you look at it it's in a dealer's best interest to offer you the least amount possible on a trade that they can then make a quick profit on when they flip it. They want to charge the maximum for the new car and give you the least they can on the trade.
That's their business.
Popped my CP on my n55 completely stock boost and car. Those pipes are weak no reason this should have been denied
As a Capitalist, I've always paid a Dealer a Fair profit. As a society, we've become conditioned to expect "something for nothing" like we're entitled to it. If the consumer wants the BEST possible deal there is....invest 35 million for a franchise, then you can have them ALL at cost. :)
Book values typically drop every 30 days. Dealers typically have approx. 90 days to move their inventory before they start to lose money (most dealers floor plan/pay interest on their cars). They will appraise your trade based on how long they believe it'll be in stock or "Desirability". I've always sold my own car(s), I'll either buy the new car then keep my old car till it sells or sell my old car then buy new vehicle (depends on what the market is doing)
No disrespect intended...:handgestures-thumb:

yeah the trade values suck. When I traded in the GTI for the mustang I shopped around quite a few dealers. Most of them came up with the same trade value for the GTI, one dealer finally came in at X value + $4k, signed that deal. Unfortunate for them I don't think they were able to move the GTI at a profit, I know it was at the dealer for at least a year. Now thinking about shopping around the Mustang for a cheap lease since i don't drive much at all anymore.
I have not heard anything like this before when Steve was still there.
They were prompt in following up with the few owners here who had any problem.
None taken, but the dealer makes money on both ends of the deal if he is competent. For instance, when I went by my very successful dealer one time and just happened over to Used Cars and asked what my low mileage 2011 135i was worth, they said they didn't even want it.
When I was looking for a used one with MT a couple of years earlier, I could not find one within a 250 mile radius for months. Same dealer gave me by far the highest quote for new also.
Far as I can tell, Dinan basically OEMs their products from other makers (example: Their BBKs are Brembo brakes with "Dinan" stamped on them, so they get to charge $1200-1400 more for their name being on them). Unless you're going all out and getting one of their special "stroker engines" built, you're most likely getting a$$ raped for the price. Their products are not better than any of the reputable tuners and shops this forum has as vendors, their products just cost more. Having a Dinan badge just tells me you have spent enough with them to pay for Steve Dinan's grandkids to go to college, and you're a sucker
LOL, very much agree, but if you're an M5 owner and want a stroker engine, there are not that many options out there. So I gave Dinan credit for that. But everything else they sell can be had better and/or cheaper literally anywhere else. Does anyone here prefer the Dinan tuner for my F10 $2495, or the BMS JB4 for $529? Seriously? The JB4 has how many hundreds of cars with them and Dinan still think they can charge nearly 5 times as much for less results?
LOL, dang, that does make the $75k Dinan stroker look idiotically overpriced, doesn't it?
This was an entertaining read for sure LOL.
do any of these Tuner/dealer warranty combo's ever pay out? APR/Audi? dinan/bmw, and so on?
Does Ford, saleen and rousch pull stunts like this?
No but they are much bigger enterprises.
Never heard of APR not paying out and they partner only with specific dealers for this reason @Arin@APR
100% payout for all coverable parts (and some not covered).
