Great write up.
With "hot side" inlets, I can see how accessing the turbo side clamp would be an issue. But if installing "cold side" inlets, I've removed the stock inlets simply by removing vac canisters, upper coolant hose, oil cooler lines from t-stat housing, and rad fan. It came out in one peice pretty easily. Just be sure to drain your coolant before removing the upper coolant hose as it is full with the stuff and will get all over your accessory belt.
