Leen, thanks for the post, internet "experts" are all too common these days just shake them off, 99% of the people nitpicking will never be in the market for this, they all run stock turbos, with a $200 tune, hate their jobs so they sit on the forums all day, and whine. Manifold looks great, the CES results posted in this thread from the other platform also look great. Looking forward to seeing CES's results.
While there might be people that just attemp to troll threads/products/or developers for the sake of starting a fire. you have to understand there is solid amount of us that are in it because of the passion. distinguishing between the two is near impossible and as a business owner its wise to give the other the benefit of the doubt. Thats the reason Tony gets a bad rap from so many people, not because the products arent good but becuase he'll attempt to knock people before getting the right picture.
As far as your manifold goes, maybe a WTF captioned picture wasnt the best way to approach the thread but its just a genuine concern for a well made product. The whole point of these back and forths are to eliminate bad people and bad products as im sure you know there are in every business. with the specific manifold the placement of everything is limited but instead of attempting to defend your personally rep it would be nice the have the product addressed. accordig to you we should just buy it because youve made good things in the past. thats not how this works. its a better starting point with a better access to the market but nownits time to prove to the market it truly is a good products. I like most people commenting and subbed want a new manifold becuase we think there can be better alternatives cost/development wise than whats out there. just be patient and address the question.
No offense man, but you want to be taken as not a troll, but a "serious" person, and your contribution to the thread, was a photo at obviously a weird angle, with WTF scribbled across it in crayon. Um you get exactly the response you asked for.
Fair enough
Regardless, it seems that the ball is now in CES's court. So I suppose we just wait for results from them.
9180 fits! Very nicely too. Second prototype is a winner. Just had to lower the turbo and move it out and back a bit. I'll post pics next week.
Awesome news, can't wait for pics :)
any updates?
If you are building a product specifically for a platform, and looking to monetize it, dont really think its possible to forget to post an important update. Just saying, asking for updates usually nets you the same response, were working on it. Don't know a single company that wouldn't post a significant update as soon as they have it.
Well since Leen isn't really the one marketing this manifold in a kit to the end user I could see how he could forget to update this thread and a reminder might get more info. Also, just because they aren't ready for full product launch doesn't mean there won't be any updates. Oh and what if other people know things or have heard something about the progress? You never know which is why people ask.
I haven't even seen CES post about their kit (at least on here) and they are the ones who are making the rest of the kit and will be selling it so I wouldn't take it for granted that every company selling aftermarket car parts will update threads on all of the different forums when there is something to update.
Not every vendor spends all their time on forums.
Well since it seems he is updating other places he has not forgotten, he doesn't give two shits to post them here, and have it picked apart like last time. So posting "any updates" is not going to net anything, as their are updates elsewhere from what Flinchy just said.
I don't have the manifold in my hands as of yet. Leen did send me some pictures of the manifold and of it on the car with the turbo installed but I don't think he wants it shared as of yet so no pictures. Apparently there needs to be some slight changes ( i'm not sure what they are) and then there will be a batch of 50 made.
I don't have a time frame, i just get my info when Leens gives me an updates. The moment I have the manifold in my hands pictures will be posted.
He did post this on Facebook, even though it wasn't much.

Ya i have a bunch of those pics from that photoshoot - I saw what he posted online. He said not to post them up so I will just let him display what he wants. I will prob check back with him in a few months to see how the progress is going.
