Vengeance Racing adds a 2.9 liter Whipple twin screw to a 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 LT4 and makes 909 rwhp
The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 with its 650 horsepower LT4 motor is no slouch in stock form. It will do an 11.5 @ 120 in the 1/4 mile stock. It is also pretty heavy though at 3926 pounds. For owners wanting to go faster ditching the factory Eaton TVS1740 blower make a lot of sense.
A 2.9 liter Whipple is much, much bigger. It also can be spun harder.
Here is what they did to the car:
· Whipple 2.9L Supercharger System
· Vengeance Racing CNC Ported LT4 Cylinder Heads
· Vengeance Racing Stage III Camshaft Kit
· Vengeance Racing Custom Cold Air Intake System
· Vengeance Racing Engraved Valve Covers with Coil Relocation
· Kooks 2" Longtube Headers with Kooks axle-back exhaust system
· RPS Triple Carbon Clutch
· ATI 22.5% Overdrive Balancer Kit
· Vengeance Racing Custom Auxiliary Fuel System
· AlkyControl Dual Nozzle Methanol Injection Kit
· BMR 1" Lowering Springs
· Vengeance PCM ECU Calibration
They tested it on 93 octane, E85, and C16. Surprisingly, leaded C16 race gas provided the best numbers:
BoostAddict.com does not doubt Vengeance Racing but they should know better than just posting the peak numbers. Where are the graphs?
Regardless, the LT4 is simply begging for a bigger blower and a 2.9 liter twin screw is not a bad way to go.
